In my recent post “Global Anti-Semitism Rears Its Head,” I cited David Nirenberg’s superb and clarifying book Anti-Judaism: The Western Tradition, in which he demonstrates how anti-Semitism is structured into the foundations of the Western worldview. For those of you who do not want to take on this dense and fairly lengthy work, I highly recommend this 45-minute video of Professor Nirenberg lecturing in April, 2023 about his thesis. It is a very worthwhile and accessible summary and introduction to the work of this important historian.
